Meet Sid
You describe it. Sid makes it.
Sid is the little sheet of paper in our logo. It makes your pages, keeps them current, and otherwise stays quiet.
EXAMPLE“A hallway page: when to leave, and whether it'll rain.”
You describe a page.
What it should show and where it lives, in plain words. A hallway page, a desk page, a story for bedtime.
Sid makes it.
It writes the page for your Sidepaper’s screen, in large type and four grays, and puts it on the paper.
It keeps it current.
When your calendar or the weather changes, Sid updates the page. When nothing has, it leaves it alone.
Never needy.
No sounds, no lights, no notifications. It never asks for your attention. It’s there when you look.
On your terms.
Sid only sees the sources you connect. Most are read-only, and you can disconnect any of them.
Quiet by default.
When there’s nothing worth saying, the page stays as it is. A blank line beats a busy one.
Everywhere you look
A page for every room.
Hang it by the door, lean it on your desk, or set it on a shelf. Each room gets the page that's useful there, and you decide what goes on every one.
Kitchen
The family board. Today's plans, who does which chore, and one thing worth knowing.
A painted kitchen in morning light: an ochre wall, a bright window, a plant and a bowl of lemons on the counter.Nursery
High-contrast cards for new eyes. Press the button for the next one.
A painted nursery in rose and cream: a sheer-curtained window, a black and white mobile, a crib and a shelf with a soft bunny.Office
Your agents as a departure board. Who's boarding, who's delayed, who's done.
A painted office in sage: a framed abstract print, a bookcase, a tall plant on a light oak desk.Desk
What needs you from your agents. Quiet until one is waiting on a yes.
A painted desk at dusk: a blue-gray wall, a window with the city lights coming on, a warm lamp and a stack of books.Hallway
When to leave, whether to take the umbrella, and the bus after that.
A painted hallway in cool daylight: a white door with a glass panel, a coat on a hook, a console and a basket of library books.Kids' room
A bedtime story, one page at a time. Little hands press the button to turn it.
A painted kids' room at night: an indigo wall with stars, string lights, a moon in the window, a bed and a warm bedside lamp.Rooms are paintings and the films are placeholders, not footage. Pages show example data.2
How it works
If you can say it, you can make it.
Tell Sid what you want in everyday words. You see the page right away, exactly as it will look on the screen, and you change anything by asking. Connect your calendar or a list, and it fills in with your real day.
A family board for the kitchen. Our week, the chores, and what's for dinner.
Here's your first draft. Today on the left, chores on the right, and a strip at the bottom where Sid adds one useful thing.
Bigger day name. And add the weather.
Done. Weather is on, for your city only. Connect your calendar and the sample plans become your real week.
A family board for the kitchen. Our week, the chores, and what's for dinner.
Proof. What you see is what prints: 648 × 480, four grays.

A day with Sid
It changes when your day does.
Most pages update once in the morning and then use no power at all. When something needs you, like time to leave or an approval at work, the page changes on its own. Pick a time to see.

For builders
You built the agent. Give it a desk.
Add the Sidepaper plugin to Claude Code or Codex. When an agent needs you, your desk says so. When it's done, the page goes quiet.

FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
What is Sidepaper?
A small screen, about the size of a postcard (or a little smaller, for the mini), that shows what you'd otherwise check on your phone: today's plans, the chores, when to leave, what needs you at work. You describe it in everyday words, the page is made for you, and it keeps itself up to date. The screen is E Ink, like an e-reader, so it reads like paper and never glows. Sid is its friendly face.
Is Sid an AI agent?
No. Sid doesn't talk, listen, or act for you. When you describe a page, the studio uses an AI model to draft it, and you decide what stays. On the device, Sid notices small useful things in the calendars and lists you connect, like rain before the school run, and puts them on the page. In this preview, what Sid notices is example content.
Do connections work today?
Not yet. In this preview every connection is simulated: pages show sample or example data and say so. When connections go live, each one will be scoped to what the page needs, most of them read-only, and you'll be able to disconnect any of them.
How long does the battery last?
It depends on how often your pages update. Our power model estimates about 53 months for a page that updates once a day, 27 months for every 15 minutes during the workday, and 14 months for a page that updates the moment something changes, 8 am to 6 pm. These are estimates, not measurements.1
When can I get one?
Reservations aren't open yet. Sidepaper mini (4.2″) will be $75 and Sidepaper (5.83″) $95, with no subscription. The First Edition is planned for March, numbered 0001 to 0500; the date and numbering are placeholders for now. You can make pages in the studio today with 100 free creation credits and no account.
Do I pay to make pages?
Everyone starts with 100 creation credits. Sid spends 2 to make a new page and 1 to change one. Starting from a template, editing the code yourself, undo, and Sid fixing its own page are free. When you want more, top up with $5 (50 credits), $10 (100), $25 (250) or $100 (1,000). There's no subscription, and pages you've made keep running on your device without spending credits. A service you connect may have its own costs. Checkout isn't open yet, so nothing is charged in this preview.
How does pairing work?
Your device arrives blank. Press the button on top and it shows a six-digit code. Type the code into the studio, and every page you've made prints on the device. You can pair it again any time.
